More jar goodies....

I have been up to my old tricks again making a jar for a friend to give to her friend for her wedding. The jar has inside a set of pattern pegs, some hand made buttons (bought on etsy) I made a little button card for them, two mini seed packets made by me with carrot and broccoli seeds inside. Some brown twine with a printed tag which says tie the knot. All finished with a spotty fabric top wrapped in twine with a hand stamped tag!!

Oh i do like to be beside the seaside...

Well the Come dine with me final commenced yesterday in Flamborough, it wasn't a sun drenched weekend by the sea but we managed a some what windy walk on the beach and cliffs and I got a bit snap happy with my camera. After our walk we all headed back to the caravan site to make our courses for the final meal!

First course was us with Scallops layered on pea puree, topped with crispy bacon and nutty garlic butter. Followed by the main course which was home made lamb burgers in pitta with home made yogurt and mint sauce and home grown salad with halloumi cheese. Dessert was a rich chocolate torte with fresh berries and oodles of creme fresh!!! Ummmm what a meal!

I am so chuffed to say the winner was announced last night and it was us!!! Yippee, we won thirty pounds too and it was a lot of fun. We all enjoyed it so much were going in for round two starting in October.

Hope you all had a great weekend? Right better get back to Button boxing now lots of cards to make xx

Having a go

One of my friends has leant me her super duper camera for the weekend so I can have a play and see what I think of SLR cameras- I also took the shots of my textile piece using it.! I must say I am so impressed with it how close up you can go and the detail it shows! Heres a few pictures I have taken-Marley seemed the best subject to practice on)

(he was very curious of the zoom lens on this one!)

(clearly he had had enough at this point, and left with a flick of the tail!)

little textile piece

When I was in Barbados I picked up some old vintage local stamps and decided to put them together with the old letter I found on ebay in a little textile piece. I have added an old shell button, rubber stamping and Washi tape. Its a gift for a friend of mine who is getting married-fingers crossed she likes it ( i'm going to frame it )

what a find

This morning I was going through the old envelopes and came across a letter in one of them (from 1926) what a bonus prize!! It is so well written its like poetry!
I love how the sender has written this at the top xxx

"your letter was so nice that it whispered, every now and then, in my ear to respond to it.
With love that would linger on to see you on sunday"

Im in love with this letter!!

Bought these little beauties

I found theses little beauties on ebay-they are old envelopes dating right back to 1930!!
Its funny how you can see beauty in something so old and rugged when others may just have thrown them away! The stamps on them are great they are half pence and 1 and a half pence value.

Now what to do with them? Im thinking of scanning them in so I can reproduce some of the envelopes on cards and I also thought I may get the sewing machine out and do some textiles pieces to frame ( I am doing a craft fair in August so they may go down well there)

little boy card

Over the weekend I made this card for a little boys birthday-I must admit I always find cards for boys that little bit more challenging as I think I have a very feminine hand writing. Think this turned out cute though xx

Back to textiles...

Last night Hubby went off to see a comedian in Sheffield so I grabbed some time to make some more cards. I made this birthday card using a fabric covered badge, brown paper and linen. I used to make alot of textile cards but recently they have become more print based so i'm going to be bringing back the textiles. (now and again)
