Time for a catch up!

Oh dear, I havent posted since February, sorry!

Its been very busy at Button Box Cards head quarters making lots of cards, gift tags and cupcake flags to name but a few! My Etsy shop is now ticking over nicely which is great ( I do love Etsy) and I have even had orders for Australia which is very exciting.

We are also under going a new kitchen so our house so it is upside down, messy and full of dust...boo! Its half way there now but we had a blooper with the paint, we where going for Farrow & Balls "Blackend" which turned out more like "baby blue" which was a massive clash with the units, opps. So last night was a mad dash to choose another shade, fingers crossed the new ones looks ok! Marley is hating the upheaval and can often be found hiding in the bath away from the kitchen noise of drilling and banging!

Well thats all for now, I hope you all have a fabulous Easter weekend full of lots of eggy goodness.

My Salty sailor dad...

about 1 week ago I was sent a box of old photos that used to belong to my dad that had been in storage.

It was such a joy to open up the box full of old photos of dad, you could certainly "smell" there age and history as I lifted them out of the box! The main treasure of this box was a beautiful photo of dad on one of his first boats when his love of sailing began.

I am yet to find a worthy frame but as soon as I do this beauty is going on the wall! I feel so proud to have had such a talented dad.
Also in the box was his old sailing charts from when he made his journey from the Channel Islands over to Barbados. They are so beautiful, tea stained and creased with all the pencil markings dotted along the journey he made from island to island..complete with a doodle here and there!

Spoon Full Of Sugar-new stockist

Hey Bloggers!

Saturday was a lovely day, I met up with friends who took me to a lovely cupcake shop in Uppermill!
We enjoyed tea and cake in beautiful miss-matched china teacups in shabby Chic surroundings. The cakes there where to die for, I went for a Malteaser cupcake!

I also took a little batch of my cards along to show the owners to see if they may like to stock them, they said yes so I am thrilled to say they are now on Sale in "spoon full of sugar" Uppermill in Saddleworth...so if your in the area drop in for a cuppa and cake!

Wedding Bells

My lovely friend Lesley is getting married this weekend and I wanted to make her a little something
for luck on her big day. I made a little tag completed with printed feather and large shell button and a little four leaf clover.

What a great anniversary weekend...

I have had the most amazing anniversary weekend in Chester with my husband, I am still smiling now!
We started off with a trip to chester zoo which was great, particular highlights where the butterfly house and the Monkeys. There where baby orangutans playing around, bopping there mum on the head I could have watched them all day long!  We also saw a family of meerkats which had tiny babies which looked like tiny cuddly toys. (going to upload my zoo pics later )

Next we went off to a boutique hotel in a converted Georgian town house in Chester which was really quirky, great styling, great experience and a giant egg shaped bath! We then went out for a fantastic meal in the evening and eventually rolled back to the hotel (we ate until we popped!) So a great weekend in great company.
Happy anniversary Mr Rowe!

Hooray, its cards time

Today I have finally had some time to get stuck into my cards, its been a while. I started the day by making Bridesmaids jar gift which was commissioned by a bride for her sister. The jar is packed full of goodies all wrapped in hand stamped brown paper.

I have also started designing a new range of cards with cheeky sayings and cute icons (see below)
I'm really loving the camera one.

I have also made and designed a selection of Christmas cards..I still want to design a couple more before I put them onto my blog as a full range.
